First day of school!

Well, yesterday was Ally's first day of Kindergarten and Elizabeth's first day of SEVENTH grade! Wow, what happened there? They were both so excited, waking early, fluttering around the house, dancing around outside while waiting for the bus. I hope this is an omen for the school year.
Beautiful, huh?

Look at my new backpack and matching lunch bag!

Yup, I'm very cool!

See ya Mom!

Day's all done. Tig missed her sisters and went out to meet them!
What else is new? The blight got my tomatoes and potatoes. Sad stuff there. I have LOTS of beans. I'm trying to convince the kids that they really like them, don't they remember? Sigh.

Tig had a cold and gave it to Ally who gave it to me. Sigh.

My oven broke for the second time in less than 2 months. Grrr.

Dan painted the windows on the back of the house. Yeah Dan!

That's all for now. Hope you all are well!

Gish Family Crazy Life

ugh.....I had it all typed out and lost in while trying to add a picture...drama I say

Kasey turned 4 this week. He will be going back to daycare/preschool half days on 8-31. The other half of the day he will be doing a preschool program thru the school district...no nap, this should be fun in the evenings. Makenna is going into 1st grade. We believe she is getting the teacher she wants. Such drama and attitude you would think she is a teenager. She is very mature for her age. They are both big hearted kids. Sophie is 14 months walking, talking and singing....american idol wanna be?? Makenna and Kasey spent their first summer at home instead of school/daycare...had a babysitter and lots of fun all summer.

Me - I just got my stitches out today...the first for me. We bought new knives and they worked GREAT. This will be the 2nd year for my mops, mothers of preschoolers, group I do at church. we started with 5 people last year, now up to 20. I was asked to be a speaker at this years women's retreat "how to survive in this chaotic world" is the pretty much what it will be on...I think :) still have lots to do on it. This is all happening in Sept with school starting too so my wine intake will likely increase!

Nate- he is the hardest working man I know. No matter how busy, crazy and stressful work is he is always home for dinner with the family and attends all the kids functions.

A busy week

Hi Everyone,It's been a busy week. Last Wed we had a very successful work party for the kids school garden. It looks great! All paths are clear and mulched. Beautiful!Thursday, Ally had a followup procedure to check on her renal reflux condition. It looks like the surgery in Feb was a success! Allison was especially brave and amazing. The followup was not pleasant for her and everyone was impressed at how well she handled it!

Tig and Ally caught colds. They are on the mend. On Monday we went shopping for school supplies. Ally is starting Kindergarten and Elizabeth is starting 7th grade. Mom was a little tired when we got home!
Elizabeth and I went to look at clothes for school on Tuesday -just the two of us. It was great to spend time alone. I realize all over again what a great kid I have.
It looks like Antigone is going to be going to head start this year, also. I'm happy because she wants and needs more intellectual stimulation, but I'm a little sad too. So, to cheer us both up, I leave you with this short Video of my baby girl- The happy cowgirl.
Love you all,
Reb
